NOTE: Most of this is taken from the the Senior High Timeline and expanded for the purposes of discussion. Kindly note that the Boys Division tournament days fall on Sundays throughout the whole of May and June.

May 6th
• Rounds 1 and 2 of Kanagawa Tournament [BOYS] ; BYE
Relevant Notes:
1. The boys team attends the kick-off ceremonies sans Yanagi who has elected to stay behind and assist in overseeing the first day of the girls team Welcome/Round-Robin Matches. ~~Noey would like to indicate here that Renji!muse is not being very forthcoming about his reasons for staying.~~

2. By lunchtime, Marui and Niou request permission to head on back to 'update' Yanagi on the teams that have managed to make it through the morning's first round. Akaya, who is by this point sleepy and bored ("They think they're convincing, don't they?" /snerk) asks if he can go with them. Yukimura allows them to leave, Sanada is frowny and idly comments that its not like they won't be calling Renji to let him know how things are going anyway.

3. LOTS of little sister angst on Eiri's part. Oniisama is obviously still annoyed at her over... something. ~~I WILL GET BACK TO YOU GUYS ON THAT~~

4. Considering that Iida Mayuki shows up to watch. This will attract the attention of a handful of people, but no fuss. Most of the underclassmen probably don't remember her (BOO).

Noey would like to indicate here that Renji!muse is not being very forthcoming about his reasons for staying.

Perhaps he is staying because he traditionally sits around and observes the girls team, just for data purposes? Or he knows that Yukimura would like to know how his sister does but doesn't actually say that and Yanagi ~knows~? Or maybe one of the girls approached him and asked him for help with the matches, such as deciding them or something?

(Maybe he likes someone in the club?)

I know Asari approached Yanagi personally for this. I'm going to have to explore the whys and wherefores of that ~~these muses, they do things that force me to THINK~~. I know that one reason was to ensure a semblance of neutrality since Michiko is Asari's friend and people might whisper about rigging of matches. Having Renji around would prove a deterrent to that since people know Asari isn't the boys' biggest fan.

As for Yanagi actually staying -- I'm leaning a lot to the Eiri bit. I'm afraid though that this might paint him as a little... soft? Or softer than what we're used to. I sort of want to toss in how Renji's own relationship with his elder sister might influence his... meddling.

Well, if he stays because he knows that Yukimura would want to know the results, I don't think it'd really be... soft. More like, he knows Yukimura without needing to discuss it and it's not so much soft. Though, if he's staying as encouragement for Eiri, then yeah, that would be soft. So it would depend on your outtake on it.

"Fudomine Middle School (市立不動峰中学校, Fudōmine Chūgakkō?) is an unseeded and unknown public school with rumors of violence. It was originally unknown due to an unreasonable coach and a lazy set of senior regulars. The freshmen at Fudomine were brutalized severely by the older tennis club members, while the coach ignored the mistreatment.

Tachibana and the abused freshman attempted to rally together and form their own tennis club, but the coach and the other players find this idea absurd and try to stop this from happening. When the coach allows his older team members to attack Tachibana and the freshman, Tachibana snaps and attacks the coach. As a result, Fudomine is pulled out of the District Tournament that year.

Tachibana and the others eventually reform the club, and in the series, upsets Kakinoki in the District tournament semifinals and Hyotei in the Prefectural quarterfinals. The high school division of Fudoumine is fairly new and manages to retain that air of violence and poverty that the middle school has. A lot of the students come from poorer families who are unable to afford the more expensive private schools.

It has a similar air to the school in Gokusen. Or would feel similar to an inner city school in NYC/East LA.

Bullying tends to go unchecked and the teachers are not ~~Yankumi~~ the best.

Yayoi and Oruha are the team founders. Both have been playing tennis since grade school, usually together (they make an awesome doubles team) and Yayoi decided she wanted to play for the school. Founded their freshman year (same year Tachibana was a freshman in the high school).

The team is not great. The first year they were eliminated during the Tokyo District Prelim. The second year they did better, getting into Regionals and making it to the quarter finals. Third year, they should make it into Kantou - maybe Semis/Quater finals?

Oruha is in the same class as Tachibana and that is how she found out about An playing tennis and why she approached him. Considers him a friend but has no other connection to the boys team.

An is the only other girl with any sort of a connection to the boys. She goes off to watch them occasionally and they come to watch her play every now and then but that's about it.

Yayoi and Oruha plan on going professional but they want to spend their time enjoying tennis and the team, so they lean more on the not so serious side of things at practice and for matches and everything. Yayoi, especially, emphasizes having fun above all else. It's probably why they're not the best team, but do improve.

We can play it by ear, if ever, Cyn :)

A lot of the interaction might be defined by the whole culture that you have in the school. Fudou is not as... nice, as other schools. But we can have pretty interesting meetings if ever?

At this point, An and Oruha are the only connections. The girls aren't competitive with the boys (like Rikkai), nor are they overseen by one of the boys (Hyoutei) or intensely close (Yamabuki).

We can go which way if ever. I think it'd be nice though if they started to get thrown together eventually. There is Senbatsu to think about after all.
